About us

The recently renovated Salwey Arms (often referred to as simply ‘The Salwey’ is an iconic 18th century, Georgian Coaching Inn.

Lovingly restored during 2013, The Salwey offers a wide and diverse range of dining, drinking and entertaining facilities.

From the outset, the renovation was sympathetic to the historical routes of the property with a subtle injection of contemporary features and a modern background service infrastructure.

The Salwey is superbly located on the junction of the A456 and A49 in South Shropshire (2 miles south of Ludlow and is well known to everyone in the area. We are easy to find and have a large car park.

Facilities include bistro dining areas (serving fresh local foods), a separate and well stocked bar serving a wide range of local beers, 3 function rooms suitable for between 10 and 100 guests (more with an integrated marquee), 5 luxury letting rooms and a large garden with patio areas.

Our kitchen was completely replaced and incorporates a vast array of efficient and modern equipment capable of delivering even the most demanding service. We can deliver everything from a sandwich to an 8 course fine dining experience.

If you are seeking a beautiful and well equipped venue for your wedding reception, private party or even a conference, then The Salwey will meet your every need.
